Wandering In The Wilderness Of Life

Joshua 1:10-11 (KJV) “Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, 11 Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it.”

After many years of wandering in the wilderness of life, God is calling for us to turn towards the Promised Land. He is beginning to give the command to prepare to move forward with the intention of spiritually, mentally, and physically taking possession of and occupying the land. However, we did not know was that there was one more supernatural act that God was planning to perform to complete the transition: We have one more river to cross.

Is This Possible?

From the human perspective, it does not seem possible. Any human effort would be an effort in futility. In other words, it would take a supernatural act of God to accomplish this great feat. God is preparing the hearts and minds of the people to acknowledge this fact. Also, He is preparing us to acknowledge that we cannot obtain the conquest of the promise based on human activity alone. It is in conjunction with the power of God Himself. In addition, God actually goes before us to prepare the way, while we prepare for the journey.

This Is Possible!

We can never receive anything in life without some form of action on our part. Therefore, we must demonstrate our commitment to the process to the person with whom we partner in life before we receive the initial investment of resources. Similarly, we must demonstrate the same commitment to the process to God that He has laid out before us before He entrusts us with His guaranteed presence. Moreover, He has promised to go before us, but we must both be presently and continuously committed to adhering to His Word, will, and plan for our lives once we have entered into the Promised Land.

Conclusion

Ultimately, as we prepare to obtain and occupy the Promised Land, we must begin to prepare ourselves for the journey ahead. We must fully trust in God to take us on to the other side by His Divine Power and ability. With God…in God…through God, we are well able to possess the land (Num. 13:30).
