Numbers 27:18-20 (KJV) “And the LORD said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him; 19 And set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight. 20 And thou shalt put some of thine honor upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.”
Is there such a thing as an easy transition? Perhaps. But the transition from one leader to another can be difficult for not only the leaders but for the people affected by the transition as well (Jn. 19:15). At times, we can become so accustomed to one form of leadership that we almost ascribe God-like status to them. We hold them in such high esteem that we resist the transition in leadership when it comes.
So, we must always allow the transition to occur as change is inevitable in life. Sometimes the current leadership has led us as far as their capabilities have allowed, and it will take a new set of eyes to see the vision necessary to take us to the next level of our existence. This is true, whether in our personal lives or in other areas of our lives.
