A New Day!

Joshua 5:12 (KJV) “And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more, but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.”

One sign that you have arrived at your land of promise is that the thing which sustained you during your wilderness wandering will sustain you no longer. It is a new day and you will need something new to sustain you from this point forward. Jesus said,

“No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. 17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.” Matthew 9:16-17 (KJV)

It is a new day and in order to obtain what you need to sustain you moving forward, you will need to relinquish what used to be because it will no longer useful. God has no plans nor desire to leave you on empty, but has “come that you might have life and that you might have it more abundantly.” (Jn. 10:10). Another translation states this another way. It says, “…and that you might have it to the full…” (NIV). God knows precisely what you will need to overcome and conquer the opposition which lies ahead seeking to prevent you from a successful conquest and campaign. He will provide (Gen. 22:1-13).

Just as you have trusted God to bring you thus far, you will need to continue to trust in Him to lead you in the days to come. Although the physical journey may have ended, your spiritual journey with God still continues. Look up to He Who sustains all things by the word of His power, and you will find all that you need to continue this journey (Ps. 121; Heb.1:3). It is indeed a new day in your new life!
