Deuteronomy 6:6 (KJV) And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
Our love for God is demonstrated through our obedience to His Word. Obedience is not meant to be a legalistic, nor ritualistic, adherence to God’s Word, but an outward expression of one’s true understanding of how important is Its influence in every area of life, both within the home and within the surrounding community. When applied appropriately to one’s life, God’s Word governs the individual’s conduct towards God, the family, and the neighbor. When applied appropriately, God’s Word becomes a reality (a living force) to the person who engages in the study of It. When applied appropriately, God’s Word leads one to a singular focus upon what should take the primacy in life…placing God at the forefront of everything that exists in one’s individual, familial, and communal life.
