Matthew 22:35-40 (KJV) Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like, unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
We spend many years trying to figure out how to live right as Believers. But if we would, first, look to the Scriptures, we would learn that living is best defined within. Jesus Himself gave us the formula for living right, and it is quite simple: Love God with your entire being and love others as much as you love yourselves.
Knowing this formula shifts our perspective on how to engage in life. It changes how we approach life. It helps us with the prioritization of the key factors of our lives. If we have a better understanding of what takes precedence within our lives, then we will gradually see a shift in our overall lifestyle as we begin to take action.
So the real answer to how to engage in living right can be best observed by loving right.
