Deuteronomy 29:4 (KJV) Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.
Our life’s journey is solely dependent upon the power of God operating within us. How far we go, how successful we may become, how influential we may be in the lives of others all are contingent upon the level of God’s power working within us. This all derives from the gift which extends from the hand of God: the ability to see, hear, obey, and obtain knowledge.
Unless God graces us with this gift, we will never 1) be able to survive the battles before entering the Promised Land, 2) be able to successfully settle upon entering the Promised Land, nor 3) be able to survive once we have settled in the Promised Land. Why? This gift enables us to fully trust in the Lord’s ability to not only be the God of our pasts and present, but also the God of our future. But this is not something we can do in our own ability. It is something that we MUST receive from God Himself.
We must continue to rely upon God’s power to successfully advance His Kingdom agenda and never lean on our ability and understanding.
God has given us the power to function with this ability to make informed decisions to walk in obedience to Him by trusting in His ability to bring forth His promises to us. However, because of our unwillingness to follow Him wholeheartedly, we are unable to access the gift. If, in this state, we did access the gifts, they would become misappropriated and used for our own selfish agendas instead of advancing the Kingdom of God.
We must humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God (1 Pet. 5:6). As we demonstrate our faithfulness to God, He will begin open up more of His heavenly gifts to us to assist as we continue along this life’s journey. But it is by His power working within us that we will be able to access these gifts and use them for His glory throughout the earth.
