Joshua 18:3 (KJV) And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the Lord God of your fathers hath given you?
The promised territory. Receiving the promises of God requires some activity of our part. This is not one-sided. He empowers us to overthrow the forces of darkness so we can occupy the promised territory. We cannot expect God to do it all for us.
In what areas have you struggled to overcome? In what ways have you attempted to move forward? The point is that we must grow stronger in the Lord and the power of His might (Eph. 6:10). The way we do this is by ensuring that we have on the whole armor of the Lord (Eph. 6:11-18). How do we ensure that we have clothed ourselves with the whole armor of the Lord? We do this by engaging in our relationship with Him daily.
Although the struggle may be real, we were never designed to carry any burden alone. God promises to provide the grace we need to overcome all things through His Son, Christ Jesus.
God gives more grace to those who humbly seek Him with their whole heart (Jam. 4:6). It is through His grace that we become strong in our weakness (2 Cor. 12:9). As we become stronger, we become enabled to overtake the promised territory. When we overtake more of the promised territory, we begin to understand greatly that God has worked alongside us through it all. We understand that God does not expect us to do it all. But He does expect us to do something.
